You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'

[Originally posted on 1Up.com]

You never close your eyes
Anymore when I kiss your lips.
And there's no tenderness
Like before in your fingertips.
You're trying hard not to show it, (baby).
But baby, baby I know it...

In May I sent my darling out the door. After laying my eyes on her slimmer and brighter little sister, I knew our relationship was over, there was no looking back. I had hardly touched her in months anyway, there just wasn't much there to entice me.

You've lost that lovin' feelin',
Whoa, that lovin' feelin',
You've lost that lovin' feelin',
Now it's gone...gone...gone...wooooooh.

After getting back from my trip to Tibet, I acted quickly and soon had that black beauty in my hands. Oh, she sure was smooth and had qualities that made my ex. pale in comparison. Well I brought her on a three week vacation to a secluded Island on the Swedish west-coast. But almost immediately I found that I was giving her my attention more as a force of habit than because I really wanted to...

Now there's no welcome look
In your eyes when I reach for you.
And now you're starting to
Criticize little things I do.
It makes me just feel like crying, (baby).
'Cause baby, something beautiful's dyin'.

She kept nagging me to do stupid exsercises to keep me in shape, and giving me stupid advice. My attention was drifting to another, an old-flame that I frequently see, she's more of an anything goes type, and although our rendezvous are usually short, they are pretty satisfying and energetic, and you never know what game she'll suggest next...

You lost that lovin' feelin',
Whoa, that lovin' feelin',
You've lost that lovin' feelin',
Now it's gone...gone...gone...woooooah

But this was wrong, it went completely against all my instincts and always left me feeling guilty and a little empty inside. So in August, I brought my "black beauty" on a trip to Germany, to a convention where they where showing off some new games we could play together to spice-up our relationship.

Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you.
If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah.
We had a love...a love...a love you don't find everyday.
So don't...don't...don't...don't let it slip away.

On the trip there, I rediscovered a game we hadn't played with each other for a long time. It was more fun than I remembered and it made me get my hopes up once more. We saw a lot of exciting things at the convention, including many new games that could help re-kindle that flame and help me appreciate her once more.

Baby (baby), baby (baby),
I beg of you please (please), please (please)
I need your love (I need your love), I need your love (I need your love),
So bring it on back (So bring it on back),
Bring it on back (so bring it on back).

After getting back home, during the last couple of months we've made several attempts with some of these games, as well as others but, somehow I'm just not having all that much fun. There was one game that I enjoyed more than any other with her fatter, older sister last year, and I was hoping that this newer version of the game would be the one to rejuvenate my love for the younger sister, but I'm just not getting that feeling. It seems the connection between us just isn't there anymore, maybe we just need some time apart...

Bring back that lovin' feelin',
Whoa, that lovin' feelin'
Bring back that lovin' feelin',
'Cause it's gone...gone...gone,
and I can't go on,
woh-oh-oh-oh
Bring back that lovin' feelin',
Whoa, that lovin' feelin'
Bring back that lovin' feelin'
'Cause it's gone...gone...gone...
And I can't go on.. wooooah

DS baby, I'm tellin' ya, it isn't you... it's me!.
