So 'Revolution' is now officially 'Wii'...

The Internet is ablaze with discussions, rants & raves about this choice of name. I'm torn, it sounds nice on it's own, but as soon as you put it in a context it really sticks out like sore thumb. On the other hand, there have been a lot of product names that felt really off-putting to me initially but that I then warmed up to, so I'm just gonna give it some time, and I have no real desire to get into that whole mess.

I did however just come to thinking of a related topic. In the past, developers have been notorious for using Nintendo's console names in their game titles. From the 'Super'-prefix of SNES games, through the '64'-, and 'Advance'-suffixes of N64\GBA games to the often pun-heavy DS-titles. This made me think about how this might be used with Wii, with all the puns flying around already, that seems an easy route to go even if it leads to a dark place...

Here's a few examples off the top of my head:

  • Resident EWiil

  • CastleWiinia

  • Wiirio Ware

  • Super Mario Wiirld

  • Wii <3 Katamari

  • The Legend of Zelda: TWiilight Princess

Any other suggestions? Give me your best pun-induced Wii titles!
